Liberia ends World Cup, Nation Cup Campaign

The Liberia national soccer team is expected to end her World Cup and Nation Cup campaign today in the Liberian capital when she takes on Algeria in the last match of the joint 2010 World Cup and Nation Cup qualifiers.

Liberia is at the bottom of  Group 6 with 2 points from five matches played. Algeria is at the top of the group with 9 points from five matches while Gambia and Senegal are at the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively with 8 points each. A win for Algeria will take her to the Nations Cup while the match will serve as a test match for Liberia for future competition . A lost for Algeria and a win for Senegal or Gambia will take either of them to the Nations Cup.

The last time Liberia qualified for the Nations Cup was in 2002.
